Whats your least favorite album from your favorite nu metal band and whats your favorite album from your least favorite nu metal band

My favorite nu-metal band is Pleymo and my least favorite Pleymo album is 2006’s Alphabet Prison. Not a total wash by any means, “Adrenaline” and “Galaxie autarcique” are two of their best, but the band was falling apart and unsure where to go after 2004’s Rock or their intended Kyo teamup “On ne changera rien” didn’t sell as expected. A move to LA to team up with American producer Blackrock didn’t do much and the band broke up a few years later. I like the album don’t mistake me, there’s lots to enjoy, but it’s a confused effort that’s trying to be heavy enough to win back old fans while pop enough to maintain new ones. Tough line to walk, doesn’t work. My least favorite nu metal band is Motograter, whose 2003 self titled debut album neatly summarized everything people were sick of in nu metal. Corny costumes, gimmicky instrumentation, stupid nicknames, repetitive unimaginative lyrics about suffering/suffocating/hating/pain, and a real piece of shit bully frontman who has been credibly accused of abuse multiple times over. Out of their two albums I’m going to say my favorite is 2017’s Desolation off the simple strength that it doesn’t have Ivan Moody on it.

“Duality.” Sometimes the obvious answer is the correct one. I went into greater depth here but it’s everything the band was doing well at that moment bumped up one impossible notch to something era defining. Now if I had to pick their best deep cut? “Surfacing.”

Good ass question. I’m going to go with Munky and Head of Korn who brought an incredible sense of innovation to the 7-string downtuned guitar on par with any other guitar player of the 1990s. But I’ve never had strong opinions on guitarists, I might take this question to the timeline later.

Favorite Adam Sandler movie? Important question

Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch Drunk Love. A sensitive and revealing performance that feels like Sandler crafting a genuine human being out of the romantic comedy dopes he’d been portraying up to that point. I like him in Uncut Gems too but he’s a real wonder in Punch-Drunk Love and I don’t think we’ll ever see that side of him on screen again.
